The Polish Amyloidosis Network is an educational and scientific project, launched by a group of specialists in various fields, including haematologists, pathologists, nephrologists, cardiologists, neurologists and radiologists, who aim at improving amyloidosis patient care in Poland. The Network has been established to face problems with early and correct diagnosis of various types of amyloidosis in Poland, such as the lack of specialised reference centres. Importantly, a patient with amyloidosis diagnosed at an early stage may live for many years, or even decades, whereas the prognosis in the late-diagnosed amyloidosis, which is predominant in our country, is very unfavourable. The organisation of the project is supported by the Polish Myeloma Consortium.
